The table was part of the furniture designed for the apartment of the textile designer Alma Mergentine in New York. A coffee table split into two different parts , simply juxtaposed , to create more compositions , thanks to its shaped tops . Designed by Frederick Kiesler in 1935, its gives a domestic touch also to the brushed aluminum.
The KI09 model is however much more than a simple table, it is a real sculpture whose beauty lies precisely in the imperfections of its surface. Each sign demonstrates the craftsmanship of the production and the nature of the material itself: a ground-moulded cast aluminum.
It remains possible for lovers of perfection to proceed with an aluminum-colored lacquer which, while hiding the very essence of the material, preserves its shape and aesthetics.
