Mizutani returned to Japan before the war, and started teaching at the Tokyo College of Fine Arts, his former school, where he was appointed Assistant Professor of Architecture. In the mid of the 50s Mizutani and Yamawaki designed the exhibition “Gropius and the Bauhaus” for the Tokyo National Museum of Modern Art.
The table has never been part of any production at his time; the project was originally conceived with wooden legs and was presented with photos of models and drawings in various publications focusing on Bauhaus furniture.
